Our mission was clear - to adopt a student-centred approach, aiming to gain a deeper understanding of how UK secondary schools, and students with additional access requirements, utilise modified exam papers from various exam boards, as well as to implement the findings to create a more inclusive and accessible exam environment.

In January 2023, we interviewed “Katherine”, a remarkable Year 12 student. Inspired by Katherine’s powerful slogan - ‘we need to be our own advocate’ - we went on to collect more real-life stories of students with additional access requirements. By amplifying their voices, we want to raise awareness, inspire a collective effort, and really drive change to support an inclusive, accessible, and empowering educational environment.
