Are you an international centre?
If you're already a Pearson approved international centre, and you'd like to deliver additional qualifications, please contact your regional office.
Select a scenario below to find out how to gain approval to offer our academic qualifications, including GCSE, A level and the Edexcel Certificate.
Before you can apply for qualification approval, you'll need to get centre approval. Find out how to become a centre.
If you already offer one of our Edexcel qualifications (eg GCSEs) but want to offer another (eg A levels), you need to email us to confirm this in writing.
We'll be in touch to notify you of your new centre status.
There's no need for additional approval to do this. If, for example, you're approved to offer our Edexcel GCSEs, you can deliver all subjects within this qualification family.
Please refer to the centre guidance and subject specification for advice on ways of delivering the specification and on the resources needed. You'll find this information in the qualifications area of the website.
Contact your regional office for advice and guidance on the approval process.
Our Edexcel International GCSEs were initially developed for the international market, and are renowned for being academically rigorous. They've since become popular among independent schools in the UK.
To provide more choice for UK state schools, accredited Level 1/Level 2 Certificate qualifications, renamed as the Edexcel Certificate for UK state schools, are now included in Section 96 of the DFE list of approved qualifications.
The Edexcel Certificates are based on our International GCSE from 2009 specifications. They count towards national league table points and are eligible for funding in UK state schools.
You won't need additional approval if you already deliver our other Edexcel qualifications.
Our Customised Qualifications Service (CQS) on Pearson’s Self-Regulated Framework (SRF) allows for qualifications to be specifically created and developed to meet the needs of a particular range of learners and stakeholders.
Here, we explain how to start working with us to develop customised qualifications.
