General Qualifications 2017/2018: UK fees 1 August 2017 – 31 July 2018

These are our General Qualifications exam fees for 2017/2018, published on 9 August 2017.

We are committed to offering the widest selection of subjects to meet the needs of teachers and learners. In order to maintain this breadth of subjects – and in light of changes to the exam system and declining numbers for certain subjects - we have had to increase our fees in some areas, whilst keeping many others at similar levels to last year.

Further to our existing qualifications, this year we have taken on new subjects and ensured there is a wide range of Modern Foreign Languages available to students across the country, including important community languages, for instance, to maintain a broad and balanced provision of qualifications.

In addition to the qualifications we offer, we continue to provide an extensive package of support for our qualifications and to invest in innovative services. For example:

  • We are the only awarding organisation to offer a free Access to Scripts service for all qualifications. This is a new service that we are providing to all centres from this summer.
Find out more about this service
  • We provide a comprehensive package of teacher support materials, exemplars, network and support events, and subject advisor services. Please contact your subject advisor if you would like to know more. We will work with customers throughout the year to ensure that the services and products we offer provide value and support for centres, teachers and learners.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Our 2017/18 Vocational Price List is designed to help you plan and develop the programme of BTEC and Edexcel qualifications in your centre.

Fees for work-based learning centres and colleges

Minimum spend threshold

There is a minimum annual spend requirement of £1000 for all UK colleges and work-based learning centres. This will be calculated based on a year running from 1 August to 31 July. If your centre doesn't meet the £1000 threshold in a given year, an invoice will be raised by 1 September for the difference between your actual spend and the minimum threshold.

Centre approval fee

We'll be charging a one-off fee of £400 upon successful approval as a brand new Pearson UK college or work-based learning  centre.
