UK general qualifications fees Summer 2022
The Department for Education and Ofqual have confirmed that exams will go ahead in summer 2022. As always, we’re here to help you through the coming months and are continually investing in additional qualification support in the run-up to the 2022 series and beyond.
The document below provides full information on our Pearson Edexcel general qualification fees for UK centres in summer 2022. We will also continue to invest in additional qualification support and further improvements to our qualifications to help and support you and your students through the specific challenges of the 2021/22 academic year and beyond.
General qualifications fees cover the delivery of each qualification over a two-year period from first teaching to successful completion of the course and assessment. Our experts work to provide schools and colleges, teachers and students with the best and most up-to-date support possible throughout this cycle. While your qualification fees are paid at the very end of the two-year course, they cover much more than just the final exams and enable us to provide everything you and your students need throughout the course. We recognise that school budgets are stretched, and we will always aim to keep fee increases to a minimum, while providing as much value for money for our qualification fees.
Please take a look at our visual guide below that explains this in more detail.

Included in your qualification fees is a wide range of comprehensive support, including:
- a full programme of training events and CPD
- progression services that let you track and assess student progress during the year
- expert subject support whenever you need help
- access to past exam questions and mark schemes via our online examWizard services
- ResultsPlus, our online results analysis tool that gives you a detailed breakdown of your students’ performance in Pearson Edexcel exams
- our Access to Scripts service that allows you to view your candidates’ marked exam papers online or download as a PDF.
Minimum spend threshold
There is an annual minimum spend requirement of £3000 for all Pearson-approved UK colleges and work-based learning centres. Customers, who we believe may be impacted by this, will be notified at the start of the academic year. Shortly after the end of our financial year (31 August), an invoice will be raised for the difference between actual spend and the £3000 threshold. Spend is calculated to include all purchases made between 1 September and 31 August.
Centre approval fee
We'll be charging a one-off fee of £1000 upon successful approval as a brand new Pearson UK college or work-based learning centre.
Payment will be subject to Pearson's usual payment terms of 30 days. If you fail to pay in time, this will be a breach of the terms and conditions of payment, and may lead to the withdrawal of approval.
Academic qualification fees are published in the entry and registration basedata, which can be imported into your Management Information System (MIS).
