General Qualifications 2018/19: UK fees

We’re committed to offering high-quality qualifications across a wide range of subjects and to supporting you throughout your qualifications experience. We work hard to offer this at a competitive price. Due to increased industry costs as the qualification system changes, we have had to increase our exam fees in some areas of our GCSE and A level suite for 2019.

All of our prices include a wide range of free support - to save you time and money on additional services. We’re continuing to extend and enhance our services and to find new ways to support you in the areas that matter the most.

As just one example, you’ve told us how important it is to be able to access candidates’ marked exam papers and analyse how they’ve performed in particular areas.

We’re really pleased to be able to confirm that we are extending our unique free Access to Scripts service - which does exactly that, free of charge. This is just one part of our comprehensive range of support which also includes:

  • A full programme of online and face-to-face training events and CPD
  • Progression services that let you track and assess student progress during the year
  • Our free ResultsPlus online results analysis tool that gives you a detailed breakdown of your students’ performance in Edexcel exams
  • Access to our trusted subject experts whenever you need help
  • Our unique Access to Scripts service.

For more information on any of this, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Academic qualification fees are published in the entry and registration basedata, which can be imported into your Management Information System (MIS). You can also download the PDF version of the fees booklet below.

Fees for work-based learning centres and colleges

Minimum spend threshold

There is a minimum annual spend requirement of £1000 for all UK colleges and work-based learning centres. This will be calculated based on a year running from 1 August to 31 July. If your centre doesn't meet the £1000 threshold in a given year, an invoice will be raised for the difference between your actual spend and the minimum threshold.

Centre approval fee

We'll be charging a one-off fee of £1000 upon successful approval as a brand new Pearson UK college or work-based learning centre.

Supporting documents

Alongside the new price finder, we’ve also provided the following supporting documents to help you understand our prices and charges:

  • registration timelines, top-ups and drop-downs
  • BTEC First and Nationals external assessment costs (re-sits)
