EDSQ (Essential Digital Skills qualifications)

Essential Digital Skills qualifications (EDSQs) will be automatically funded for adults (16-19 and 19+ employed or unemployed) who don’t have the basic digital skills they need for life and work. EDSQs can also be delivered alongside other entry level qualifications such as ESOL, and Functional Skills English and Maths.
Update - 8 December 2020: Pearson are pleased to announce that our Essential Digital Skills Qualifications (Entry and Level 1) have now been approved by Ofqual.

Essential Digital Skills webinars
The EDSQs will be available for adults to support them in developing important fundamental skills in using technology in today’s digital world. These webinars outline the content of these qualifications, how they’ll be assessed and what funding they will attract.
Learners with no or low digital skills will benefit from accessing a fully funded and up-to-date qualification that reflects the evolving digital landscape.
The Essential Digital Skills framework defines the digital skills adults need to safely benefit from, participate in and contribute to the digital world. These qualifications are suitable for all ages and support the development of key digital skills such as using devices, creating and editing digital media, using technology to communicate, buying and transacting online, and how to stay safe and secure when using technology.
Qualifications will be available in Entry Levels and Level 1 and available to teach in England only.
The Essential Digital Skills standards can be found in our About EDSQ page.
