March 2023 Languages Update
Welcome to your March Languages Update.
New GCSE French, German and Spanish Specifications
It has been great to get to meet with so many of you over the last month and share our plans for our new GCSE specifications in French, Spanish and German. If you’ve not made it to an event yet there’s still time, we have a number of face-to-face and online events still to come.
Please be aware these changes only apply to GCSE French, Spanish and German. All other GCSE languages and the International GCSE will remain the same.
Sign up for an online session or a face-to-face event near you
Language World 2023
We’re also looking forward to attending Language World 2023 from the Association of Language Learning. The theme of this year’s event is ‘What we value – past, present and future treasure’. Please do come and say hello.

Speaking your language podcast
February saw the launch of the new Pearson podcast, Speaking Your Language hosted by Fiona Pryce. In her first episode Fiona speaks to Esmerelda Salgado about engagement and challenge in the language classroom. Episode two features two of Fiona’s former students speaking about their experiences of studying languages at university. There are lots of great guests still to come.

We’ve also released two more free resources as part of our Permission to Speak series.
