Changes to Construction NVQs - September 2013

In June 2013, we redeveloped a number of NVQs based on new National Occupational Standards.
As part of this project, there are several additional changes taking place in September that centres will need to be aware of. These changes have been agreed by the industry in consultation with the sector skills council, CITB - Construction Skills, to reflect current standards required by industry.
The following qualifications are affected:
- 600/4003/8 - Pearson Edexcel Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Construction Operations (Construction) (QCF): this is to be withdrawn and closed to new registrations. Centre approvals have been transferred to the new NVQ Diploma in Construction Operations 600/9087/X, which replaces it.
- 600/3998/X - Pearson Edexcel Level 1 NVQ Certificate in Roadbuilding (QCF): this is to be withdrawn and closed to new registrations with immediate effect.
- 600/4000/2 - Pearson Edexcel Level 1 NVQ Diploma in Decorative Finishing and Industrial Painting Occupations (Construction) (QCF): this is to be withdrawn and closed to new registrations with immediate effect.
- 3600/3996/6 - Pearson Edexcel Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Trowel Occupations (Construction) (QCF): this is to be withdrawn and closed to new registrations with immediate effect.
