UK centres will not be able to submit candidate entries for examinations in 2015 (or afterwards) for the following International GCSE qualifications:

  • Gujarati
  • Sinhala
  • Turkish
  • Swahili
  • Classic Arabic
  • Urdu
  • Modern Greek
  • Bengali
  • Arabic 1st language.

Summer 2014 will be the last opportunity for these qualifications to be sat in the UK. They will, however, continue to be available in international centres.

Our International GCSEs (and the parallel Edexcel Certificate qualifications) in the following languages will still be available to UK centres:

  • Chinese
  • French
  • German
  • Spanish.

Please note: None of the above International GCSE qualifications are approved for use in UK state schools. They do not feature in KS4 headline measures reporting.
