Wed Jul 06 16:30:00 UTC 2022

Dear Colleagues

I want to start off by saying a big thank you. From the senior leaders, heads of department, teachers and exams officers, to the teaching assistants, technicians, administrative staff, operations teams and everyone in between, you have all made this year happen.

We have passed another major milestone last week with all exams now sat. To the many of you who will now be working as examiners, thank you for your commitment and hard work to ensure papers are marked and grades can be awarded.

This week there will be a group of us from Pearson attending the Festival of Education. If you are attending do come and say hello, it’s always great to speak to you and I hope that there will be some helpful information on our stand and also throughout the panelist sessions we are involved with.

We’ve just launched our first Pearson School Report. It reveals what more than 6,500 teachers in England and sector experts think about education in 2022, as well as their challenges and hopes for the future. There is more information about this in this bulletin and it is a very interesting read.

We only have one more edition of the bulletin this term, after this one, and we will be sharing more detail about appeals and what to expect in the buildup to results day, as well as other important and helpful information. For those of you that are Exams Officers, we are running two live Zoom events to help you prepare for results day and the post results period, that you may want to attend. If you are a new Exams Officer or it is your first series for a while, it is worth attending these sessions.

In the meantime, if you need any more information or want to share any feedback with us, you can always get in touch. We will always do our best to get you the answers as quickly as possibly.

Assessment Director

The November 2022 advance information is now available for:

Do take a look at the exam timetable for the November resit dates. Please note, there is no age restriction for students entering the November 2022 exam series.

You can find the resit rules for English on our website. There is no requirement to submit video recordings for the Spoken Language Endorsement in November 2022.

Ahead of the Summer 2022 results days, we will be changing the way that hard copy results requests are recorded. Due to environmental and time advantages, all qualifications will now be opted out of receiving hard copy results as default.

If you still wish to receive hard copy results documents you must update your preferences on Edexcel Online by 15 July 2022 to ensure that any changes are captured ahead of Summer 2022 results.

The results documents available online consist of:

  • Broadsheets
  • Component mark list
  • Contributing units report
  • Candidate statement of provisional results (CSPRs)

These documents are available to download in Edexcel Online as digital copies. The digital results documents will also be automatically populated in your Edexcel Online mailbox at midnight on the relevant Summer 2022 results date.

If you would still like to receive hard copy results documents, such as Candidate Statement of Provisional Results, and Component Results reports, please update your preferences on Edexcel Online by 15 July 2022.

Please visit Edexcel Online > select the relevant qualification > select Results > Report Delivery Options, to update your preferences.

Further detailed information can be found in our General Qualifications Statement of Results support article.

As we enter the final weeks of the summer term, please ensure you have created a ResultsPlus and/or a Results Plus Group Analysis account before the end of term to be ready for results day.

Find out more and set up your ResultsPlus account today.

For multi-academy trusts and groups of schools, you’ll need to set up a separate account to use the new ResultsPlus Group Analysis service from results day.

Take a look at our short video that explains how ResultsPlus Group Analysis will work for you.

From 25 August 2022 until 16 December 2022, you will be able to view and download exam scripts which have been marked online using our Access to Scripts service. This service is included as part of the qualification entry fee, but student consent is required, after students have received their results.

The Portal can only be accessed by Edexcel Online users who have the ‘Exam Viewer’ profile ticked in their Edexcel Online profiles. Exams officers are able to give teachers access to Exam Viewer. Don’t forget to ask your exams officer for access before you break for the summer, to be ready for the post-results period.

Take a closer look at Access to Scripts and see how this service can give you insights and visibility that performance data alone cannot provide.

Our Key Dates Finder enables you to find all of the key dates for Pearson general qualifications and subjects in one place.

Here are those taking place in the next few weeks.

For more information on key dates for post results services please visit our Post-results services key dates web page.

We are hosting two zoom events for Exams Officers to help you prepare to issue results in August and navigate the post results period successfully. Both sessions will cover the same content, so please book on to the most convenient for you.

As part of supporting every learning journey and innovating for the future, we’ve just launched our first Pearson School Report. It reveals what more than 6,500 teachers in England and sector experts think about education in 2022, as well as their challenges and hopes for the future.

Whether it’s educators taking steps to be more sustainable or creating curricula with wellbeing and life skills at their core, the findings offer plenty to reflect on and discuss when it comes to schools today and tomorrow.

See what teachers and school leaders had to say.

You can also get in touch with your comments and experiences by tagging us on social media with the hashtag #PearsonSchoolReport.

We still have a number of events taking place before the summer break related to teaching our specifications, including network events, feedback events and getting ready to teach events.
