Pearson comments on UCAS and Health Education England (HEE) report
Commenting on the UCAS and Health Education England (HEE) report released today (Thursday 20th January) 'Next Steps: Who are the ‘future nurses’?', Donna Ford-Clarke, BTEC and Apprenticeships Product Director at Pearson, said:
"It is great to see the increase in numbers of applicants and acceptances for Nursing HE programmes, when these keyworkers are in such high demand in the UK workforce. We welcome the report's recommendation that there must now be sufficient capacity in the education system to capitalise on this growth in interest.
"With three quarters of Nursing applicants holding a vocational qualification (such as a BTEC), these are vital and established routes into the profession. This report underscores how important it is that access to these existing routes continue to be available and funded by government for delivery in colleges, alongside the new vocational and technical routes such as T Levels and HTQs."
