Meet the BTEC stars of 2022
The BTEC Awards recognise the hard work and dedication of BTEC learners, educators and providers from across the globe. Every year, we receive nominations containing truly inspiring stories.
For our judges, 2022 was no exception. We were in awe of the learners who gave everything to their study; the teachers and tutors for whom it's so much 'more than a job' and the outstanding providers blazing a trail for excellence and opportunity.
We are now delighted to announce the full list of Bronze, Silver and Gold BTEC Award winners from the BTEC Awards this year. Read more about our incredible winners as you join us in recognising their talents, perseverance and commitment.
Our International award winners:
BTEC Performing Arts Learner and Adult Learner of the Year
Lise-Mari Van Wyk is our Gold Nominated Performing Arts Learner of the Year this year and was also chosen by our judges to be the BTEC Adult Learner of the Year 2022.
As a blind person holding a bursary for being the top learner with a disability in the Western Cape, she found no university would take her to study performing arts. Undeterred, she attended her audition to study a BTEC HND and was accepted by Northlink College in South Africa.
BTEC Teacher of the Year
Caroline Noela Gichuru's dedication to music and the performing arts has influenced every level of the school curriculum and driven an incredible series of positive changes.
She has supervised music and dance videos, school productions featuring live bands, musicals, DJ performances, musical theatre trips, karaoke nights and theatre summer schools with intense, hands-on encouragement and care.
BTEC International Institution of the Year
Beaconhouse International College believes passionately in developing students and nurturing them to become global citizens and leaders.
They aim to bridge the gap between the industry and academia - imparting entrepreneurial skills to the students and providing them with a platform to hone their business management, communication and leadership skills.
This College places a huge focus on the soft skills that BTEC courses develop, such as research skills, referencing skills, report writing skills and presentation. All the skills that are so in demand at the professional level by prospective employers.
