The changes affect only the following three pathways of BTEC HND in Social and Community Work:

  • Integrated Health and Social Care
  • Social Care Leadership and Management
  • Community Development

The current requirement for these pathways is for a minimum of two placements for the duration of the programme. The new requirement is for a minimum of one placement.

This change is to ensure parity across the Higher National qualifications for the Health and Social Care sector.

All other pathway requirements remain the same.

The other assessment requirements for the work placement elements of the BTEC Higher Nationals in Social and Community Work remain the same.
