Before you go...

After results have been published you may wish to analyse your results using some of the services we have available such as Access To Scripts and Results Plus.

The Access to Scripts portal and ResultsPlus can only be accessed by Edexcel Online users who have the Exam Viewer and ResultsPlus permissions ticked in their Edexcel Online profiles.

Only Exams Officers are able to give teachers this access.

Don’t forget to ask your Exams Officer for access before you break up for the summer, so that you are ready for the post-results period.

Available from results day, our Access to Scripts service allows you to view your candidates’ marked scripts online or download as PDFs, providing transparency of marking and to help you make decisions around requests for reviews of marking and inform future teaching and learning.

ResultsPlus is our online results analysis tool that gives you a detailed breakdown of your students’ performance in their exams.

Once you’ve received your students' results, you can get more insight on their performance on each question at individual student, class or cohort level using ResultsPlus.

As the end of the exam series has come to an end, we would like you to share your feedback on this year's exam papers. We wish to provide students with the best possible exam experience, and your insights are crucial in helping us achieve this goal. If you're a teacher whose students have taken any of our exams in the May/June 2025 series, we are eager to hear your thoughts.

Your input will be shared with our senior examiners and across our subject teams to help us continuously improve future assessments and enhance the exam experience for students.

We really appreciate your participation in this process, thank you.

If you have a chance to ask any of your students to complete this survey, we would love to hear their feedback.  It should take no more than five minutes to complete.

Do you currently use ActiveLearn?

ActiveLearn will be retired by the end of 2026 and you will be upgraded to Active Hub our digital teaching and learning platform.

With ActiveHub, you’ll get:

  • a user-friendly interface with improved navigation
  • enhanced functionality including an insights dashboard, auto-marked activities and an assessment library (dependent on subscription package)
  • a mobile-friendly platform, allowing your students to complete homework and interactive activities on the go

The Economics, Business and Enterprise Association would love to know about your subject-specific professional development needs to help plan activities for 2025-2026.

The FT case studies are appropriate for both GCSE and International GCSE.  The mapping in the table (and in the case studies themselves) is to the GCSE specification.

International GCSE Business teachers may find it useful to observe that GCSE Theme 1 looks at small businesses (the focus of Paper 1 on the International GCSE), and that GCSE Theme 2 looks at larger businesses (the focus of Paper 2 on the International GCSE).

The new case studies this year start with 43 and 44.  These can be found alongside the case studies from the last two years.

There are two Facebook groups, one for each qualification.  They are private groups and applicants are checked to confirm that they have an Edexcel Online account.

The GCSE group has over 3,000 members.  The International GCSE group is much smaller.

There is  also a Pearson Edexcel Facebook page designed to help and support you with the teaching and delivery of our UK qualifications. You can find the latest news, updates and information about our support services across subjects. From our own news to updates from Ofqual and JCQ, follow us on @PearsonEdexcel on Facebook to stay up to date.

The mapping in these case studies is for A level Business but IAL Business teachers might be interested to know that the four 'themes' in the A level Business specification correspond very closely to the four units in the IAL Business specification.  The command verbs used in the questions are from A level Business so these will need adapting for IAL Business.

As well as the FT case studies available on the qualification page there are also case studies and activities from recent FT articles available in the dropbox folder.

Transform Business Teaching with Multimedia Resources from the Educational Recording Agency (ERA)

The ERA Licence provides seamless access to television and radio recordings, offering a single point of clearance for the rights needed to create and use authentic media resources in your classroom. With ERA’s free video streaming platform, licensed institutions can explore a rich library of curriculum-mapped TV and radio clips tailored to GCSE, AS, and A-level teaching.

Engage your learners with curated clips, full-length documentaries, and programmes that bring economic contexts to life. The platform also includes exclusive access to the BBC Shakespeare and Literary Archives, offering unique cross-curricular opportunities to enrich your lessons with impactful media - perfect for both homework and classroom activities.

To access this free resource registration is required - but is quick and simple. State schools in England are licensed under a central agreement with the DfE and the vast majority of independent schools also hold a current ERA Licence.

The Financial Times free school offer

Secondary schools around the world can get free online access to the Financial Times, with articles, games and multi-media content on many topics to enrich studies and improve exam performance in business, economics, politics, geography, psychology and other topics.

The FT can help strengthen global and media literacy, and offer insights into preparation for further study and the world of work. It also has competitions, an online work experience programme and teacher selected articles with suggested questions, alongside resources developed by Pearson/Edexcel.

Details at www.ft.com/schools . A staff member can check if their school is already registered and to create student or staff accounts at www.ft.com/schoolsarefree

There are two Facebook groups, one for each qualification.  They are private groups and applicants are checked to confirm that they have an Edexcel Online account.

The A level group has over 2,000 members.  The IAL group is much smaller.

Ever wondered how the whole assessment process works? Take a look at our series of short videos that shine a light on the assessment process to help students, parents, carers and teachers understand how the exam process works.

Watch the videos

The Accounting Clubs in Schools programme teaches basic accounting literacy and can be delivered in a lunchtime or after-school club, or as part of 6th form enrichment. To run the programme, a teacher would need to complete the training (the next training series is being run in July) after which all the teaching materials are provided.

Why not start an Accounting Club at your school or college?

Many teachers have been emailing me asking about the future of our GCSE and A level qualifications.  We have had no indication as yet that reforms are in the pipeline but the final report of the Curriculum and Assessment Review may provide more information. The interim report was published in March with the final report due in the autumn.

These monthly updates will keep you informed of any announcements.

Multi factor authentication was rolled out to nearly a quarter of a million Pearson Portal users last year. Although it has now become a standard way of accessing our systems, it can sometimes present challenges if a smart device is lost or replaced.

You can read more information, see a quick start guide and access FAQs and troubleshooting for our authenticator app in our Pearson Portal Authenticator support article.
