Latest update for GCSE, International GCSE, A level and IAL Business teachers | Pearson qualifications

September 2025 Business update

29 August 2025

Welcome to this September 2025 update.

This first update of the year looks back at the summer 2025 series and also looks forward to the new year.

Looking back at the 2025 exam series there are still some post-results services you may wish to use.

Looking forward, there are training events and resources to explore as you prepare your teaching. Later this term, the final report of the Curriculum and Assessment Review may well answer the questions you have been asking about future qualification reform and the longevity of the current specifications. We will, of course, keep you informed of any announcements.

I hope that the start of term goes well.

Key dates

Date Activity
12 September International GCSE entry deadline (November series)
25 September Deadline to submit requests for Reviews of Marking
17 October IAL entry deadline (January series)
12 December Last date to use the Access To Scripts service via Script Viewer.

Post results services for the May/June 2025 exams.

The most immediate deadline is for requests for Reviews of Marking which must be submitted before 25 September.

The Access to Scripts portal is available until December and you may also wish to use Results Plus and find aout about grade boundaries and grade statistics.

The August update provided  a comprehensive guide to these post-results services.

Available from results day, our Access to Scripts service allows you to view your candidates’ marked scripts online or download as PDFs, providing transparency of marking and to help you make decisions around requests for reviews of marking and inform future teaching and learning.

ResultsPlus is our online results analysis tool that gives you a detailed breakdown of your students’ performance in their exams.

Once you’ve received your students' results, you can get more insight on their performance on each question at individual student, class or cohort level using ResultsPlus.

You may wish to find the 2025 grade boundaries for your subject on our Grade Boundaries page.

If you would like to see the cumulative percentage of candidates at each grade boundary as a percentage of the total cohort, you will need to visit the Grade Statistics Page.

Feedback from examiners' reports as well as grade boundaries and statistics from previous exam series can be found on the assessment support pages.

Multi factor authentication was rolled out to nearly a quarter of a million Pearson Portal users last year. Although it has now become a standard way of accessing our systems, it can sometimes present challenges if a smart device is lost or replaced.

You can read more information, see a quick start guide and access FAQs and troubleshooting for our authenticator app in our Pearson Portal Authenticator support article.
