Understanding your results

The UK Government decided that exams would be cancelled and that students would be awarded grades based on evidence from their teachers. Centres were asked to make judgements which were based on student evidence and performance. These grades were then quality-assured by us.

Where special considerations, requirements or adjustments would have been applied for students, centres were able to bear that in mind when making their judgements.

For International A Level, the same approach was used, but grades were awarded at unit level and an average UMS score was applied. This allows students to re-sit units or cash-in the units and progress on to their next steps.

Exams in these qualifications were undertaken in this summer 2021 series.
