An update on the Sport sector in March 2020.
Sports update from CIMSPA
IfATE opens a consultation to simplify external quality assurance system.
On 27 February 2020 the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) launched a consultation to simplify the external quality assurance of apprenticeships.
Currently employers can choose between professional bodies, Ofqual and IfATE as the organisation to conduct the external quality assurance of apprenticeships. There are 20 organisations approved to conduct this role and CIMSPA were awarded this role in the winter of 2019.
Within the consultation IfATE outline this role should be undertaken by Ofqual and in appropriate situations supported by professional bodies and professional bodies should transition the responsibility to Ofqual by 2022.
CIMSPA have been working with Ofqual to identify how partnering with them can provide a more efficient and effective system for the quality assurance of apprenticeships, we intend to continue and accelerate those conversations.
The consultation is open for 6 weeks until 9 April 2020. For details of the consultation please visit the IfATE website.
