General Updates

We are pleased to share that the DfE has now published the proposed content and content addendum for the reformed T Level in Sport, due for first teaching from September 2028.

As part of this reform, the DfE will set mandated content that will shape the structure, delivery, and overall suitability of the qualification. It is therefore essential that providers and partners like you review and share your views to ensure the qualification works in practice.

This is a key opportunity to influence the future of T Level Sport—helping to ensure it:
• Meets the needs of your learners
• Is manageable for your staff to deliver
• Supports clear progression into employment, apprenticeships, and higher education
The proposed content is not final, and your feedback will directly inform its development.

Proposed Content

Subject Content Addendum

The consultation runs until Sunday 9th August 2026.  We strongly encourage you to review the materials and submit your feedback to the DfE.

As you prepare for results day, take a look at our post-results support guide to help you find theinformation you need to understand and analyse your students’ results, and what you can do if you have any queries about grading or marking.

A guide to post results service

Waiting for exam results can be nerve-wracking for many students. Our guide for students, parents and carers on Understanding results and grades contains helpful information about what to expect on results day and where to find further support.

The guide includes information on:

- dates for results days
- receiving and understanding results
- grades and grade boundaries
- what steps to take if they are not happy with their results
- university applications
- certificates
- where to find further support.

Please pass this information on to your students.

Support for students ahead of results day

Special consideration for GCSE PE – Component 3

For Practical Performance, if the centre has formally assessed the candidate(s) and awarded the mark during the course of study it is not required for candidate(s) to apply for special consideration. You must inform the moderator that you have formally assessed the learner in all activities, and is now injured and cannot be part of the sample. You should then submit the marks in exactly the same way as you do for every other learner.

However, if the candidate(s) has never been formally assessed in one or more activity during the whole course of study, then they should apply for special consideration.

If the candidate(s) has failed to participate in an assessment/examination without valid reason, it is expected that they will be awarded the mark of absent and special consideration cannot be requested.

For further guidance see page 28 in the Instructions for the Conduct of NEA

Instructions for the Conduct of Non Examined Assessment (NEA) - Summer 2026

Centres will need to fill in two forms:

• JCQ’s Form 10

• Pearson’s Form 10 (for practical performance)

Applications for special consideration along with the appropriate documentation, such as a medical certificate, should be sent to uk.special.requirements@ pearson.com
