Question summaries & publication of May/June 2023 exam materials

You may find these question summaries for each English qualification useful for revision and also for reviewing the June 2023 exam questions in context.

Reminder of prescribed editions of set texts arrangements for literature exams

Please see the guidance for Int GCSE, AS/A level and IAS/IAL.

Results support & access to scripts (ATS)

I will provide guidance nearer the time, but you can access the details of our post-results services now.

Candidate consent is required before requesting script copies. Candidate consent can only be obtained after results have been published, but you may wish to plan in advance of results days for how you will organise gaining consent.

The ATS portal can only be accessed by Edexcel Online users who have the 'Exam Viewer' profile ticked on Edexcel Online. Your exams officer gives teachers access to 'Exam Viewer'. After results are issued, if you have been given access you will see ‘Script Viewer’ listed in your left-hand Edexcel Online menu.

Resit dates, rules and exam timetables for future exam series

Access resit information for each English qualification.

Access exam timetables for November 2023, January 2024 and May/June
2024 (provisional).

Reminder: centres with entries for both GCSE English Language 1EN0 and 1EN2 are required to submit 30 video-recordings for the SLE for each cohort.

Time to #SwitchUp?

We’ve had a very positive response to our GCSE English language 2.0, but we understand that it’s a big decision to change to a new qualification. That’s why we’re offering an exclusive package to all centres* wanting to switch to our GCSE Maths or GCSE English Language 2.0 qualifications.

Find out more.

Good luck to all

I wish you, your students, their parents and your whole school community the very best for the remaining exams.
