Access to Scripts
What is it?
Access to Scripts is an online service included as part of your qualification fee that allows you to view your candidates’ marked scripts either online or downloaded as a PDF. Viewing scripts can provide you with a rich source of information enabling detailed analysis to help inform teaching and learning thereby supporting students that performance data alone could not provide. The marked script will allow teachers to evaluate how a has student performed on particular questions in relation to what they have been taught. N.b. Scripts do not have examiner annotation on them.
The Principal Examiner's report and the exemplars that we make available will demonstrate how the mark scheme is applied.
When can I access this service?
You can also use our free Access to Scripts service to view your candidates’ marked exam scripts online or download as a PDF. It is available from results day until the 15 December 2023.
What if scripts were not marked online?
You can still request free script copies which have not been marked online (i.e marked traditionally) but these will not appear on the script viewer portal. Traditionally marked scripts can be requested free of charge by 15 December 2023 via the Post Results section of Edexcel Online as in previous exam series.
How can I access this service?
You will need 'Exam viewer' in your Edexcel Online profile if you want to download candidate scripts from results day. Exams officers give teachers access to Exam Viewer.
Candidate consent is required before requesting script copies, as per section 4.2 of the JCQ's Post-results services guide. Candidate consent can only be obtained after results have been published.
