In light of the changes to our AS level offering, we've compiled a list of FAQs to help you with any queries you may have.
The final assessment opportunity for these qualifications will be summer 2020.
Yes. Students will be able to complete their AS course over 1 year, from September 2019, and enter for the final assessment in 2020.
No. As with previous specifications, AS and A level qualifications are not limited to only resitting candidates in any final assessment series. This means that any students who are entered as new candidates at the final opportunity do not have the option of a resit.
No. We continue to offer our A level qualifications in these subjects.
No. This decision does not impact upon the AS qualifications that we offer in other subjects.
A range of other qualifications are available in these subject areas which would be an appropriate alternative to AS. These can be delivered alongside A levels, or as an alternative qualification. These qualifications also benefit from UCAS points, which can contribute towards university applications.
For example, the Level 3 Extended Project Qualification, BTEC Nationals, Graded music examinations, speech and drama examinations.
