BTEC Tech Awards BTEC Tech Awards for 2022
To meet DfE performance tables requirements for 2024, we've developed revised BTEC Tech Award qualifications for first teach 2022. All learners starting BTEC Tech Awards on a 2-year programme from September 2022 will need to be taught on these specifications, with the exception of Engineering.
We pride these qualifications on being highly career-focused and accessible, with a comprehensive support suite across a wide variety of subjects. We're ready to support you every step of the way.
There are some changes to assessment, but the content and structure are very similar to the previous suite of qualifications, with only a few changes made to increase clarity and enhance delivery.
On this page you'll find links to each subject's specification page where you'll find support materials including written guides, video guides, training, and other teaching and learning materials.

We’re pleased to announce that 12 of our BTEC Tech Awards for first teach September 2022 have been included in the DfE KS4 2024 performance tables. The BTEC Tech Award in Engineering has not been included, and we are instead extending the 2017 version of the Engineering qualification to 2026, which will now be offered off-measures.
Our published resources to support the new 2022 BTEC Tech Awards have been carefully developed to help you deliver engaging teaching, and to prepare your students for assessment.
The resources include:
Student Books – comprehensive coverage of the course, available in print
- ActiveBooks – digital versions of the Student Books available for institutional subscription
- Teacher Packs – additional digital teaching resources for classroom or homework use, also available on subscription.
