You can access Summer 2026 grade boundaries on our website from results day. In addition to the official grade boundaries that are produced at subject level, we will also be providing notional grade boundaries at paper level for linear International GCSEs. These can help you mark and assess future mocks.
For modular International GCSEs and IAL courses, the grade boundaries are set in terms of UMS marks - there's a video explaining how these work on this page.
Grade statistics are also published, showing the percentage of candidates who achieved each grade in each qualification.
Available from results day, our Access to Scripts service allows you to view your candidates’ marked scripts online or download as PDFs, providing transparency of marking and to help you make decisions around requests for reviews of marking and inform future teaching and learning.
The Portal can only be accessed by Edexcel Online users who have the Exam Viewer profile ticked on Edexcel Online. Exams officers give teachers access to Exam Viewer.
As exams are summative, rather than formative assessments, scripts do not have examiner annotation on them - only the number of marks awarded for each question. The marked script allows teachers to evaluate how the student performed on particular questions in relation to what they have been taught.
The examiner reports and the exemplars that we make available demonstrate how the mark scheme is applied.
If scripts have been marked ‘traditionally’ (i.e. not onscreen), you will need to request them, free of charge, by 11 December 2026, via the Post Results section of Edexcel Online. This includes scripts that have been word-processed, or which have had additional sheets added to the answer booklet.
Candidate consent
Candidate consent is required before requesting script copies, as per section 4.2 of the JCQ's Post-results services guide (download link below). Candidate consent can only be obtained after results have been published.
Examiner reports contain key feedback and guidance from senior examiners on the performance of candidates overall on each paper, along with commentaries on individual questions and examples of candidates responses with the marks awarded and justification of these.
For IAL these are published on Tuesday 18 August.
For International GCSE these are published on Tuesday 25 August.

If you’re part of a trust or group of schools, you’ll need a separate ResultsPlus Group Analysis account even if your school already has ResultsPlus.

Linear qualifications (for example UK GCSEs and A Levels have grade boundaries set at qualification level based on raw or scaled marks.
Our International A Levels and modular International GCSEs are different, and for each unit raw marks are converted to Uniform Mark Scale marks with fixed grade boundaries using a unique converstion table. It is these UMS marks that appear on candidates' results slips, and which will be used to determine their final grade.
The UMS can be confusing for students and for teachers, so we have produced this video guide to aid teachers in advising their students.
If you're not happy with your students' results from the Summer exam series, you can take the following steps:
- View the grade boundaries, question papers, mark schemes and examiner reports for the paper/qualification concerned. View your students’ scripts using our free access to scripts service that is available from results day until the 12 December 2025.
- Log in to ResultsPlus to see how your students have performed on every question for the externally assessed component and compare their performance to the national average.
- If you are still unhappy with your students' results, you may apply for a review of marking via our post-results services. Full details of all our post-results services are available on our website.

How to apply for post-results services
Please speak to your exams officer if you wish to proceed with a review of marking. Exams officers should contact their Centre Account Specialist on 0344 463 2535 if they require guidance, read this guidance, or view this video. All applications for reviews of marking must be submitted through Edexcel Online.
Why are reviews of marking results sometimes received very quickly?
Senior examiners who carry out reviews of marking are re-trained prior to commencing reviews. As soon as you submit a request for a review of marking on Edexcel Online, the script is sent to the allocated senior examiner digitally. If they are sitting at their desk, they could receive the script and start reviewing it within minutes of your request.

Appeals
If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of a review of marking, you may wish to appeal against the decision. We will allow the head of centre (or designated member of the centre’s senior management team or examinations manager) 30 calendar days from the receipt of the outcome to lodge an appeal against a RoMM decision. Appeals must be submitted using the appeals webform.

Certificates are produced following any reviews of marking, and will be sent to centres by November 2026.
