Pearson Edexcel Mocks Service
At Pearson, we are continuing to develop new and innovative ways to support schools, colleges and teachers. We know how important it is for your students to be able to sit mock exam papers that they haven’t previously seen in preparation for their live exams at GCSE and A level, but we are also aware that mock exams can be a real burden on teachers’ time.
That’s why we are offering a new Mocks Service to support teachers, lighten the load, provide consistency of marking across the full cohort and analysis to help student progression and teacher CPD.
Ease the burden of preparing and marking mock exams.
Senior Pearson examiner-led marking providing consistency of marking across the full cohort.
Item level analysis of students’ performance via ResultsPlus to support planning, revision and intervention.
Analysis across individual schools, colleges and MATs can support the planning of teacher CPD and learning strategies.
What is the Mocks Service?
The Mocks Service provides schools and colleges with the Pearson Edexcel GCSE and A level exam papers* for use in mock examinations. The papers are sat by students and marked by either Pearson examiners or the school teaching staff, with the results and item level analysis being be made available via ResultsPlus.
There will be three levels of service:
- Paper-based Pearson-marked for GCSE and A level
- Onscreen Pearson-marked (for GCSE only)
- Onscreen teacher-marked (for GCSE only)
Our free Access to Scripts service will enable access to students’ mock exam papers to see the answers they’ve written and the marks they have scored for each question.

*Locked past papers will be used as part of the new Mocks Service. This mean padlocks will remain in place until centres have completed mocks cycles. These paper are still freely available to schools and colleges who have access to EOL.
