BTEC Construction: working with George Clarke and MOBIE

In 2019, we partnered with MOBIE to create four exciting new units for the BTEC Nationals in Construction and the Built Environment (2017). These units, designed in response to customer demand for affordable yet modern housing, focus on modern house-building techniques and career progression routes, and are proving to be the ideal starting point for students who are inspired to work in the modern construction industry.


BTEC Construction and the changing house-building industry

It is estimated that the UK will need 300,000 new homes a year by the mid-2020s. Despite this growing demand for housing, the number of workers joining the sector has been in decline. As the demand rises for environmentally friendly construction techniques and sustainable practices, individuals with new skills will be required to build the houses of the future.
