New apprenticeships Property Maintenance Operative
About the role
Property Maintenance Operative Standard is designed for people starting to work as maintenance assistance, facilities assistants, maintenance engineers, multi-skilled technicians. The main role is to optimise property conditions and quality to ensure the building is kept in a safe working condition.
This role requires good customer service skills and a commitment to customer satisfaction, an understanding of how building systems operate, including electrical, plumbing plant and safety systems. It includes the ability to identify and rectify faults in the building fabric which requires hands-on building maintenance skills and techniques.

You can use our on-programme offer regardless of whether you are using Pearson as your end-point assessment organisation or not.
Qualifications
In order to meet the apprenticeship standards, apprentices must:
- Complete a logbook/ portfolio of evidence*
- Complete a graded research assignment*
- Achieve Level 1 English
- Achieve Level 1 maths
* required prior to gateway and counts towards the final End Point Assessment result. Requirements for this will be set by Pearson and delivered to apprentices by the approved centres (training providers).
There are existing optional qualifications that have been mapped to show coverage of the apprenticeship standard.
