Hospital Education Service
Kathryn Dye: I work for a Hospital Education Service and our students have often missed a lot of their schooling – the Edexcel Awards offer a route back into education and bridge the gap between Entry Level Certificates and the GCSE course (or higher-level study). I tend to offer the Awards to students who experience SEND and therefore need more incremental steps in their qualification pathway.

Educational Diversity
Lorna Manning: Number & Measure is an important exam for us as a PRU. Not only does it give students an improved skills set; it is motivating and builds confidence. A pass lets students know that they can do maths, so it also builds resilience. Students with lower reading ages can access the questions so when they get that pass they know that they can do maths. They are more willing to keep working for their GCSE. This is often the first taste of success our students have.
