This summer saw a return to the full examination requirements for the first time since 2019 and we fully appreciate the hard work which students have put into their coursework and revision. On behalf of the Pearson Edexcel Music team, we want to thank everyone in schools and colleges for your dedication in supporting students and helping to make sure they achieve the grades they deserve. We wish you and your students a well-deserved break over the summer, and the best of luck on results day.

Results and post results services

The first full exam series for three years is now in progress and thoughts turn to issuing results for candidates. For some of you this will be the first series for a long time and for others this will be the first experience of candidates receiving results after exams. Below are all the details you will need leading up to results and for the post results period.

The question papers and mark schemes from this summer's assessments are now available to download from our website. Examiners Reports will be available on our website from 22 August.

Results will be released to centres on 16 August with results released to candidates on 17 August.

ResultsPlus

ResultsPlus is a free online results analysis tool for teachers that gives you a detailed breakdown of your students’ performance in Edexcel exams. It provides the most detailed analysis available of your students’ performance and helps you to identify topics and skills where your students could benefit from further learning, helping them gain a deeper understanding of their subject.

Principal Examiner Report

The Principal Examiner compiles a report on how candidates performed in this year’s examinations. It provides general feedback and highlights good approaches that can be taken forward to future examination series.

You can find these reports on ResultsPlus. Please speak to your examinations officer if you don't have access to ResultsPlus.

Watch our short video on how to find the Principal Examiner Report.

Access to scripts

After the results are published in August, centres will be able to view and download scripts which have been marked online free of charge from our self-service portal via Edexcel Online.

Customers should save and/or print any scripts they need for teaching and learning purposes before the deadline(to be confirmed but is usually in December).

Scripts do not have examiner annotation on them. The marked script allows teachers to evaluate how the student performed on particular questions in relation to what they have been taught; the Principal Examiner's report and the exemplars that we make available demonstrate how the mark scheme is applied.

If scripts have been marked "traditionally" (i.e. not online), centres will have to request them via the Post Results section of Edexcel Online as in previous exam series.

These scripts will also be free of charge, but the final dates to request them are the same as the published JCQ Access to Scripts deadlines.
