Provisional June 2023 GCSE, GCE AS and A-level exam timetables
Following the DfE/Ofqual announcement about the arrangements for summer 2023, the awarding bodies have now published their provisional GCSE, GCE AS and A-level exam timetables for next summer.
Feedback about the spacing between exams in the same subject in summer 2022 has been taken on board and this will largely be preserved in future, although the spacing between the papers will be slightly reduced next summer. This should still help to avoid the situation of a candidate missing all exams within a subject.
Results days will be on 17 August 2023 for AS/A-levels and 24 August 2023 for GCSEs.
The awarding bodies have reviewed the summer 2022 arrangements for special consideration. Where a candidate was absent from an exam or assessment for an acceptable reason, they could receive a grade as long as they had completed at least one entire component of a qualification.
This will now be adopted for all future exam series and will make it easier for both centres and awarding bodies to identify eligible candidates. Full details can be found on the JCQ website.
Our on-demand Moderation Service will enable teacher marked GCSE Maths and English papers to be moderated by an Edexcel expert examiner. Teachers do the marking; we moderate and provide the insights.
Please note, this exciting new service is available for you to use with your mocks from the autumn term for GCSE English and Maths.
Please note, the usual eligibility rules apply for the November 2022 series: any student who was aged at least 16 on 31 August 2022 can take the GCSE English Language and Maths exams.
