Summer 2017 examination materials

The question papers and mark schemes from this summer's assessments are available to download online now. Examiners Reports containing exemplar student work will be available to download from results day.

Moderator Report (E9)

From results day you can download centre-specific moderator feedback for all your coursework (from 2018 for A level) and controlled assessment (legacy GCSE) papers. Your moderator writes a report to provide general feedback on your marking and administration. If it was necessary to adjust your centre’s marks the moderator will explain why in this report. Where possible, your moderator will also advise on how you could make improvements for future series.

You can download this report from results day on Edexcel Online. Please speak to your examinations officer if you don't have access to Edexcel Online.

Please note: if you do not have access to the 'Results' tab in your Edexcel Online profile then you will not be able download your E9 moderator report. In this instance please ask your examinations officer to change your profile. Watch our short video on how to find your Moderator Report.

Principal Moderator/Examiner Report

The Principal Moderator or Examiner also compiles a report on how candidates performed in this year’s examinations. It provides general feedback and highlights good approaches that can be taken forward to future examination series.

You can find these reports on ResultsPlus from results day and on the relevant qualification page a few days later. Please speak to your examinations officer if you don't have access to ResultsPlus.

Enquiries about results (EAR)

If you're a centre with a concern about a student's results, you can use our post-results services. We have details about these services and their cost online.

Visit the 'Enquiries about results' pages

Access To Scripts

After the summer 2017 results are published in August, centres will be able to view and download scripts which have been marked online free of charge from our Self-Service Portal via Edexcel Online.

The Self-Service Portal will be available until the final post-results deadline for each exam series:

  • Summer 2017 - Thursday 28 September 2017

You should save and/or print any scripts you need for teaching and learning purposes before the post-results deadline.

Scripts do not have examiner annotation on them. The marked script allows teachers to evaluate how the student performed on particular questions in relation to what they have been taught; the Principal Examiner's Report and the exemplars that we make available demonstrate how the mark scheme is applied.

If scripts have been marked 'traditionally' (i.e. not online), centres will have to request them via the Post Results section of Edexcel Online as in previous exam series. These scripts will also be free of charge, but the final dates to request them are the same as the published JCQ Access to Scripts deadlines.

Please note: candidate's consent must be sought by the centre before viewing a script. This can only be obtained from results day and not before that point.

Post Results Fees

Details of all updated fees for our post results services  from 1 August 2017 can be found online.

Understanding marks

Get an overview of how we mark assessments and consistently award grades that fairly reflect a learner's performance. This includes setting grade boundaries and converting raw marks to UMS.

Visit the 'Understanding marks' pages

For the new AS level UMS will not be used. The qualification will be awarded at qualification level and the grade boundaries will be set on the achievement from all components. We will issue notional grade boundaries for components.
