Performance tables in England for 2020 results - May 2018 update
Here's an update on the latest release of qualifications included on performance tables in England for 2020 results.
Great news – the DfE has confirmed more BTEC qualifications which will be included in performance tables in England (2020 results).
This isn’t the final list and Pearson still has a number of BTEC qualifications under review with the DfE. During the summer (potentially July), there will be one more release of qualifications and we’ll be in touch as soon as the performance tables for 2020 results are complete.
In the meantime, here’s a summary of the new BTEC qualifications included on performance tables for teaching from September 2018 along with information on how to keep in touch with your specialist subject teams:
1. Key Stage 4 (14-16) - Technical Awards
There’s now a BTEC course on Key Stage 4 performance tables in England (2020 results) across 10 subjects. In addition to BTECs in Health and Social Care, Performing Arts, Engineering, Enterprise and Creative Media Production and Animal Care, take a look at the newly approved qualifications:
2. Post-16 Level 2 and Level 3 (Technical Certificates; Tech Level; Applied General)
There are now even more subjects and sizes of BTEC qualifications included on performance tables in England (2020 results):
Technical Certificate (2020 results in England)
BTEC Level 2 Technical:
Applied General (2020 results in England)
BTEC Level 3 Nationals:
- Certificate in Applied Psychology
- Extended Certificate in Applied Psychology
- Certificate in Engineering
- Extended Certificate in Sport and Exercise Science
- Foundation Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science
Amendments approved
We've also had some amendments approved for the following qualifications. We'll update you with more information on these updates soon:
BTEC Level 3 Nationals:
- Extended Diploma in Animal Management (updated specification from September 2018), science units have become optional.
- Extended Diploma in Sport (updated specification from September 2018), additional optional units have been added.
- Extended Diploma in Business (updated specification from September 2018), additional optional units have been added.
