What is a BTEC?
FAQs - Assessment admin for BTEC Firsts and Nationals
View the frequently asked questions below
1. Why are you making these changes?
In response to your feedback, we are making further improvements by allocating your Standards Verifier from November - so you have earlier access to your BTEC standards expert - and allocating one SV per subject area for BTEC Firsts and Nationals so you can benefit from consistent feedback and one expert point of contact for your level 2 and 3 BTEC programmes. We’ve simplified the paperwork so you can spend more time focusing on learners and less time on admin.
2. How do I know when my Standards Verifier has been allocated?
Your Quality Nominee will receive an automated email by EoL which will inform them of your Standards Verifiers’ contact details, including their phone number and email address. You should expect to receive contact from your Standards Verifier within 5 days of them being allocated.
3. What if I haven’t heard from my Standards Verifier yet?
If you have not received notification of your Standards Verifier, please contact us and raise it with your External Assessment team.
4. How can I be confident my Standards Verifier is providing me with consistent and up to date information?
We have invested in more training, standardization and monitoring for your Standard Verifiers to ensure the information they are providing you is up to date and of the required standard.
5. What changes have you made to the paperwork?
We held focus groups with colleagues from schools and colleges to understand what changes you would like us to make to the paperwork. We have taken best practice from both QCF and NQF to combine, where possible into one document. We have also removed the need for repetitive signatures in places. Internal Verification paperwork is now more aligned with the Standards Verification report. Internal Verification of Assessment Decisions can now be completed for more than one learner on one form. The Observation Record and Witness Statement have been combined into one record of practical activity. The Assessment Record has been re-designed to make it easier to follow.
6. Where can I download the new paperwork?
You can view the new paperwork on our BTEC assessment and verification forms page, and start using it straight away.
