BTEC Level 2 Post 16 Early Years
The Pearson BTEC Level 2 Early Years qualifications form part of our post-16 and adult full-time learning programme and reflect the requirements of the recent Level 2 Reform. They are designed to provide your learners with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they will need to progress to further study, employment, or an apprenticeship.

New BTEC Technical Occupational Entry qualification
We aim to have a new Technical qualification for your level 2 Early Years learners supporting their progression to work, an apprenticeship or a T level qualification.
This new qualification:
- retains the practical approach that has become synonymous with BTEC
- includes the unrivalled support and training you can expect from Pearson
- can be counted in the EYFS staff:child ratios.
BTEC Level 2 Technical Occupational Entry for Early Years Practitioners (Diploma)
Mapped to the level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard.Supports progression to employment, a level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship, or the T Level Technical Qualification in Education and Early Years.
