"We are delighted to continue working with Pearson in developing strong enterprise qualifications to inspire entrepreneurial thinking and to embed key employability skills within young people. Strong enterprise education will play an important part in nurturing the business founders of tomorrow; job creators that can have a significant impact on local economies and so it is more important to us than ever that we focus our efforts where they are most needed." About the foundation programmes

The Peter Jones Foundation approach champions project-based learning, giving young people hands-on challenges that are rooted in the real world of work and co-created with businesses and business founders from multiple sectors.

They track the success of all their programmes against a framework of eight competencies that, as well as being a toolkit for the budding entrepreneur, provide our beneficiaries with the skills valued by employers.

How the foundation supports young people

The Peter Jones Foundation’s programmes give young people across all key stages, the chance to set up and run their own businesses through the Tycoon Enterprise Competition.

Through this, they have provided over 3/4 million pounds in start-up funding for student-led businesses.

Key stage 4 & 5 students can learn about enterprise and entrepreneurship through studying a BTEC Level 2 or 3 qualification in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship at one of our Peter Jones Enterprise Academies (PJEA).

Upon completion of the course, PJEA graduates can join our Alumni programme where they have the opportunity to receive free mentoring for 12 months and other forms of support. Learn more about the Peter Jones Enterprise Alumni Programme.

The Peter Jones Foundation also nurtures and supports winners of the National Entrepreneur of the Year competition where students have the chance to pitch to Peter Jones CBE and a panel of judges. The prize is £5k cash investment in the winning business and the winner becomes the PJEA Ambassador where they share their experience with other PJEA students.

Their newest offering is the Peter Jones Home Academy, an online base for young people aged 12-18 who are being home educated. We offer a suite of unique resources, opportunities, and bitesize challenges to support the development of core enterprise skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.
