New funding guides are now available for independent schools, Northern Ireland, and Wales.

Write on Art competition
Deadline: 21 July 2026
Do you know a young person who loves art and enjoys writing?
Take part in Write on Art, the national writing programme by Art UK and Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art for young people (13–19 years old).
Twelve successful applicants will be invited to attend a day-long Young Art Writers Workshop at Royal College of Art in Autumn 2026 and have their work published.
Young people are invited to write 400–600 words about an artwork of their choice on Art UK’s website.
Free Art History programme
Deadline: 4 September 2026
Art History Link-Up’s free programme for UK state school students gives Year 12 and 13s the opportunity to develop independent research, critical thinking and subject knowledge through taught sessions and specialist mentoring.
Delivered online or in person, it offers a structured pathway into Art History, with expert support and a recognised qualification worth UCAS points.
Free Art and Design curriculum diagnostic tool
This free curriculum diagnostic tool helps Art and Design teachers evaluate how effectively their curriculum supports student independence, progression and outcomes.
The structured self-review identifies strengths and highlights areas where small, targeted changes could make a significant impact over time.

Looking for ways to enrich your teaching with real-world artistic and cultural experiences?
