Building confidence with Let's Think in English
Let’s Think in English is a teaching programme designed to help students develop the response and analytical skills necessary to succeed in English. It is available to all our centres to support our GCSE (9-1) English qualifications.
Let’s Think in English was created by Laurie Smith and Michael Walsh for King’s College London from 2009.
The programme has been trialled by 100+ schools over 5 years.
Proven success across the ability range
Like Grammar for Writing, Let’s Think in English is underpinned by a research trial in which it has been proven to work with students of all abilities.
It focuses on building skills of inference, deduction and analysis to build students' understanding, ability to express ideas, and confidence with unseen texts - whether fiction, poetry or non-fiction - in exam conditions.
Let’s Think in English lessons are largely oral and based on reading, with open-ended questioning and structured group discussion.
