The Pearson BTEC Level 5 Certificate for Managers and Leaders is designed to support the off-the job training and development of learners on the Operations/Departmental Manager Apprenticeship Standard by helping them to develop and apply the technical and behavioural knowledge and understanding required to become competent and successful in a middle management job role. It is also suitable for non-apprenticeship learners, who may or may not be in employment, wanting to develop technical knowledge to prepare for employment or progress their career by achieving a recognised qualification based on current employer recognised standards.

The Pearson BTEC Level 5 Diploma for Managers and Leaders extends on the learning from the Certificate-size qualification to include the development of practical work-based skills and behaviours and aligns to the full knowledge, skills and behavioural content of the Operations/Departmental Manager Apprenticeship Standard. It is for learners who are working, or who are intending to work as an operations/departmental manager or in an equivelant middle management job role. The Diploma qualification is also suitable for non-apprenticeship learners in employment who wish to upskill or progress their career by achieving a recognised qualification based on current employer recognised standards.
