Scaling of marks for AS French, AS German and AS Spanish (2016 specification)

The actual grade boundaries for AS French (8FR0), AS German (8GN0) and AS Spanish (8SP0) are given at qualification level (using scaled subject marks) as these are linear qualifications awarded at qualification rather than at paper level. Guidance has been produced with tables to explain and illustrate the scaling implications.

In addition to the guidance, there’s an online converter to help you transform raw marks into scaled ones. This should prove helpful when marking mock exams and used in conjunction with the AS qualification grade boundaries and notional component grade boundaries.
