📣 Your Year-Round Languages Support Contacts

If you’re new to Pearson Edexcel Languages qualifications, hi! I’m Rebecca Waker, your Subject Advisor for Languages. My job is to support you in delivering our qualifications — whether that’s GCSE, A Level, International GCSE or International A Level

I create these monthly updates, run our Facebook group, and share resources to make your life easier. Before this role, I taught Spanish and French for nearly 10 years, so I know the joys (and the challenges!) of languages teaching. I use that experience every day to help improve yours.

🎯 Try the Demo: Digital Sequencing Tool for GCSE French, German and Spanish (2024)

Earlier this week, we shared something new — a demo version of our Digital Sequencing Tool, built for the 2024 GCSE specifications in French, German and Spanish.

This demo gives you a first look at how the tool can make sequencing more efficient, more secure, and a lot less admin-heavy for centres currently doing this manually.

If you haven’t seen it yet, now’s a great time to explore what it can do.

🏅 Proactive Associate MFL Credly Badge – Exclusive for 2024 GCSE Examiners

If you're registered to examine the 2024 GCSE French, German or Spanish specifications for first assessment in 2026, you’re eligible to earn our exclusive Proactive Associate (Modern Foreign Languages) Credly badge.

This digital badge is more than just a credential — it’s a recognition of your commitment to understanding the new specifications in depth. You’ll complete at least five development activities, from attending training events to exploring our grammar and vocabulary guides, and reflect on each one. Once completed, you’ll receive a badge you can showcase on LinkedIn, add to your CV, or use as evidence for performance management and professional development.

It’s designed to support you as an examiner, help you grow your subject expertise, and connect you with a wider network of language professionals. And because it’s exclusive to those examining the 2024 specs, it marks you out as someone leading the way in MFL assessment.

👉 If you’ve not been sent the sign up information, and you are registered to examine with us in 2026, get in touch with the team and start earning your badge today.

We know that the best ideas often come from the classroom next door. That’s why we’re launching my-lens-on.languages—a video series by teachers, for teachers. It’s all about sharing what works: your go-to strategies, your proudest moments, and the little tweaks that make a big difference. We’d love you to be part of it. Just record a short video (think under 2 minutes!) showing your approach to any aspect of language teaching, and send it our way.

When you’re ready to share, fill in this form . If you’d like a bit more detail before diving in, I’ve got an information sheet ready to support you—just drop me a message on the usual email address below and I’ll send it over.
