Why take part?

The European Day of Languages, marked every year on 26 September, is a great opportunity to celebrate linguistic diversity and promote language learning in your school.

To save you time, we’ve created a new, free teaching resource, packed with engaging MFL activities. We also have some exciting prizes on offer for schools taking part in our Twitter prize draw.

Pick and mix PowerPoint

Our European Day of Languages PowerPoint is designed to be flexible – choose from 10 accessible activities and combine them in a way that suits you. Whether you want a starter, a quick quiz, a creative task, a mini research project, homework ideas or a complete lesson, we’ve done the work for you.

All the activities are designed to be inclusive, no matter which language(s) your students are learning in school or using at home. The PowerPoint is editable, so you can tweak it for your individual classes, and includes answers.

Students can earn points for each activity, enabling you to reward a winner in your class, department or school.
