Autumn 2021 exam series
Get ready for the autumn 2021 exam series. Check the arrangements for each of our English qualifications.
Who can enter
Any student who receives a teacher-assessed grade (TAG) this summer, or who an exam board reasonably believes would have entered for the exams in summer 2021 had they taken place, can take the corresponding GCSE in autumn 2021. In addition, any student who was aged at least 16 on 31 August 2021 can take the GCSE English language and maths exams, as is usually the case.
Entry deadline
11 August 2021 - 4 October 2021
Spoken Language Endorsement grades: submit on Edexcel Online by 5.11.21. No video-recordings required.
Adjustments
GCSE English Language 1EN0: no adjustments other than no video-recordings required for the SLE.
GCSE English Literature 1ET0: the papers will have the same optionality as in summer 2021. Enter students for 1ET0 N (19th century novel) or 1ET0 P (poetry). See the infographic for a reminder.

This is an ‘open series’. Any candidate may enter who has studied the course.
Entry deadlines:
11 August 2021 - 4 October 2021
Spoken Language Endorsement grades (if your students are taking this option): submit on Edexcel Online by 5 November 2021. No video-recordings required.
Coursework: submit marks on Edexcel Online by 12 November 2021. Your hard copy sample must arrive with your moderator by 12 November 2021. You can find your moderator's postal address on Edexcel Online.
Adjustments
Int GCSE English Language A and B: no adjustments other than no video-recordings required for the SLE.
Int GCSE English Literature: the papers will be in the same format as in summer 2021. This means that Part 3 of the anthology (poetry) will not be assessed. Unseen poetry will be assessed as usual.
