GCSE Art and Design

GCSE Art and Design results are reported in the Key Stage 4 performance tables (Attainment 8 and Progress 8).

The table below shows the discount codes that apply for summer 2016 and summer 2017. We will confirm the discount codes for 2018 as soon as DfE publishes that list.

All GCSE Art and Design courses, with the exception of GCSE Art and Design: Photography, have the same discount code. This means that if a student takes:

  • photography alongside another art and design course, both qualifications can count towards the school's Key Stage 4 performance table report.

  • two art and design courses with the same discount code (for example, fine art and textiles), the student will get two qualifications but only the grade deemed to be the first entry contributes to the school's Key Stage 4 performance table report.

AS and A level Art and Design

AS GCE results can contribute to both Key Stage 4 and post-16 performance tables. There is a different set of codes for each set of tables.

A level results can only be reported in the post-16 'Academic' tables.

AS GCE results are only included in post-16 tables if the student completes their studies of the subject with that qualification. If a student achieves an AS result and then continues to a full A level in the subject, then the A level result will be used in performance tables – even if it is worth fewer points than the AS result.

The tables below shows the discount codes for AS results in KS4 tables, and the codes for AS and Advanced GCE Art and Design courses in the post-16 performance tables. The qualification number quoted will have results eligible for performance tables from 2018; the legacy AS and A level qualifications have the same discount codes for 2016 and 2017 tables.

AS and Advanced Art and Design courses all have different discount codes for post-16 tables, which means more than one qualification can count towards the school’s post-16 performance tables report.
