Updates to AS Further Mathematics Specification: August 2020
As part of supporting you and your students every step of the way with our qualifications, we have updated our AS Further Mathematics specification to ensure maximum clarity.
The updated specification now includes an important update to the information about routes for the AS Further Mathematics Qualification that can be taught alongside the AS Mathematics qualification.
The ten entry routes permitted for AS Further Mathematics are:

On page 4 of the specification, the ‘Content and assessment overview’ section previously stated:
“In this qualification, option E and option K (see Appendix 9) are routes that can be taught alongside the Pearson Edexcel Level 3 Advanced Subsidiary in Mathematics qualification.”
This is incorrect as Further Mechanics 1 requires knowledge of the A Level Mathematics qualification. The only two routes to the qualification that can be taught alongside AS Mathematics are option F and option K and this has been corrected in the statement on page 4.
The updated specification also includes some further clarifying text and formulae. All details of updates can be found at the start of the document.
