Publication of our review into the delay in issuing BTEC results in summer 2022
We are proud of our BTEC qualifications and the broad range of students that use them to progress to employment and higher education. However, as you may be aware, over the summer some students did not receive their results when they were expecting them. This fell short of the standards we hold ourselves to as a company and we apologise for Pearson's role in this.
We announced in October this year that we were undertaking a detailed review into the delays in issuing BTEC results in Summer 2022. Overseen by David Russell as an external reviewer, we’ve heard from schools, colleges, students and the wider education community about their experiences. Today we are sharing our final report.
In light of the findings from our review, we’ve identified five key recommendations. Four will be implemented this year in phase one and the fifth will be implemented in phase two as part of a longer-term plan of action.
