Developed alongside Deidre Osborne, co-founder of the first ever degree course in black British writing at Goldsmiths, University of London, it provides in-depth information on the work of 12 key black British writers, as well as a wealth of references to critical materials to support independent study.
An Introduction for Students
Featuring mini introductions to each text by leading academics, educators and commentators from the field of black British literature, it suggests possible coursework pairings widening the options available to learners.
Teaching Activities
Created by our Literature consultant, Esther Menon, these activities provide a springboard for teachers to use contemporary black British writing in students’ wider reading and coursework.
Because the Edexcel AS/A level English Literature specifications allow for a free choice of texts in the coursework component, these resources can be useful in broadening the options available to your students.
