Scaling support for the 9-1 International GCSE in English as a second language
The grade boundaries for the 2017 specification International GCSE in English as a second language are expressed using 'scaled up' subject marks rather than the raw paper marks.
A guidance document has been put together to support you as well as an online converter to help you transfer raw marks into scaled ones. This should prove helpful when marking mock exams and when used in conjunction with the relevant International GCSE in English as a second language qualification grade boundaries and notional component grade boundaries.
You are reminded that this qualification does not feature an integral speaking component although an endorsed speaking paper is available as a separate option.
