New Land-based provision starting in September 2019

In addition to the present Land-based qualifications that is already available please see below the new Land-based qualifications that are available from September 2019 and onwards:

Pearson BTEC Level 2 Technical qualifications - Assessment Guides

BTEC have produced Assessment Guides for the majority of the new BTEC Level 2 Technical qualifications with many starting in September 2019.

The Assessment Guidance documents aim to support tutors delivering these qualifications with clear unit planning and greater understanding of internal and external assessments that are essential for successful learner achievement. The guides provide descriptions of assessment question types (Multiple Choice, Multiple Response, Short, Medium and Long Answer) that are required for External and Internal Assessments.  It highlights the various External Assessment types (Onscreen Tests and Task based) and describes how the Synoptic Internal Assessment fits into the qualification assessment methodology.

The Assessment Guides also identifies and defines the key command words and terms that are used in the qualification Assessments and maps the links of holistic delivery for every unit.

Land-based Study Programmes

BTEC and Lantra Awards have joined together in the development and delivery of comprehensive Study Programmes within all areas of its Land-based provision.  These Study Programmes help identify occupations within each area which highlights the mandatory and recommended optional units within the BTEC National Extended Diploma qualification and also highlights the Lantra Awards Legislative Tests and Skills-based programmes.

These Study Programmes will be a great help for Colleges in order to produce the future work force and making sure entrants going into the industry have the necessary qualifications, legislative tests and correct vocational skills that will make them fit for purpose going into the industry from day one.  For example a young entrant wanting to become a shepherd will need to have the appropriate sheep farming knowledge and work skills which the BTEC National qualification will provide, but to apply with Safe Working Practices and Health and Safety regulations will also need to have the appropriate legislative test which Lantra Awards can provide.
