Welcome to the November update from your Subject Advisor
Navigating qualification reform
Qualification reform continues to shape the education landscape across general and vocational qualifications.
Pearson's reform hub brings together the latest updates, insights and support to help educators understand upcoming changes and prepare with confidence.
New authentication forms
New candidate authentication forms are now available for qualifications with non-examination assessment (NEA). These must be completed for both Components 1 and 2 of GCSE, A Level, and International GCSE Art and Design.
Please ensure you are using the latest versions for 2026/27.

Our updated administrative support guides are designed to help with key dates, planning and submission requirements across the assessment series.

Updated A Level History of Art Examiner Reports
Updated 2026 Examiner Reports with exemplars are now available for A Level History of Art, providing useful insight to support teaching and delivery.
BTEC Tech Award Art and Design Practice 2027 moderation
From summer 2027, centres can choose how Component 1 is moderated:
- Remote moderation through Learner Work Transfer may suit work that can be clearly presented digitally
- Visiting moderation continues to be available for centres that prefer an in-person visit
BTEC Digital Assessment Plan (DAP)
Deadline: 13 November 2026
Please complete your DIgital Assessment Plan (DAP) by the deadline for qualifications in scope.
