The Pearson BTEC Level 2 Sport qualifications form part of our post-16 and adult full-time learning programme and reflect the requirements of the recent Level 2 Reform. They are designed to provide your learners with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they will need to progress to further study, employment, or an apprenticeship.

Two routes to success

We have two qualification suites for your level 2 Sport learners, offering them the flexibility to follow a route that best suits their needs and aspirations.

Both qualification suites:

our BTEC Technical qualifications map to apprenticeship standards and align to the CIMPSA professional standards that are required by the sector to enter specific job role.

BTEC Level 2 Technical

BTEC Level 2 Technical Occupational Entry for Gym Instructors (Diploma)

Endorsed byCIMPSA as licence to practice and mandated as part of the Leisure Team Member apprenticeship.

With this qualification, learners will be able to work as a Gym Instructor, progress onto a level 3 Personal Trainer apprenticeship, or could remain in full-time education, a L3 Technical Occupational Entry for Personal Trainer.

BTEC Level 2 Technical Occupational Entry for Recreation Assistants (Diploma)

Endorsed by CIMPSA as licence to practice and mandated as part of the XXXXXXXXXXX apprenticeship.

With this qualification, learners will be able to work as a Recreation Assistant, progress onto a level 3 XXXXXXXXXX apprenticeship, or could remain in full-time education, a L3 Technical Occupational Entry for XXXXXXXXXXX

BTEC Level 2 Technical Occupational Entry in Leading Community Activity (Diploma)

Endorsed by CIMPSA as licence to practice and mandated as part of the XXXXXXXXXXX apprenticeship.
With this qualification, learners could consider job roles such as sports activator, sports coach, activity leader, community worker or outreach officer, progress onto a level 3 apprenticeship such as community sport and health officer.

BTEC Level 2 First

BTEC Level 2 First in Sport

Combines classroom theory and practical learning giving learners a broad set of knowledge and skills for the subject area or occupational route.
Upon completion, learners will be able to progress onto level 3 academic or technical study programmes, such as A Level, Level 3 Alternative Academic Qualifications (AAQ), Level 3 Technical Occupational Entry Qualifications (TOE), or L3 Technical Occupational Entry for Personal Trainer.
