Post-16 Level 2 Vocational qualifications Delivery Support and Training
Our BTEC Technical suite launches in September 2025 and is funded for 16-19-year-olds and adults.
BTEC Technical qualifications are designed to meet the needs of students and provide progression to an occupation, by an apprenticeship, employment, or further study.
BTEC Technical qualifications are based on standards created by employers and designed to deliver the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to enter the occupation. They are delivered through a combination of classroom and work-based/simulated learning and assessment.

When will the new BTEC Technical qualifications be available?
Our new BTEC Technical qualifications are being developed in three cycles in line with the phasing of the reform.
Qualifications in Cycle 1 are approved for funding for first teaching from September 2025 and are shown below – click the images to view specifications, authorised assignment briefs, and transition guides.

Qualifications in Cycle 2 will be available for first teaching from September 2026. We will be developing the following qualifications in the following sectors for submission:
- Accounting and Finance
- Customer Service
- Digital
- Engineering and Manufacturing
- Transport, Logistics and Warehousing
