iPrimary and iLowerSecondary Updates
Regular and ongoing updates, in response to your feedback, are an essential part of your iPrimary and iLowerSecondary subscription. The wide range of enhancements make the subscription more powerful, flexible, and supportive for international schools teachers and students.
Early Years (iPrimary Reception) ages 3-5
NEW for September 2025
The Early Years progress tests are a key component of our Early Years content, designed to support formative assessment and guide teaching. These tests are aligned with the curriculum objectives and lesson plans, using rich visual stimuli to prompt discussion and observation-based assessment. In 2025, in response to your feedback, the tests have been refreshed with a new format that simplifies delivery, reducing the need for printing colour images, and includes expanded space for teacher observations and guidance.
These assessments fully align with new markbooks that allow teachers to visualise learner progress both in detail and at a glance through bar and pie charts, helping to identify areas for improvement and inform future teaching strategies .
The iPrimary Reception markbooks are designed to help teachers track learner progress across the Early Years curriculum (ages 3–5) in a clear, visual, and actionable way. These markbooks are part of the broader iPrimary and iLowerSecondary subscription and are available across all core subjects.
- Visual Progress Tracking: Teachers can view learner and cohort progress both in detail and at a glance using bar charts and pie charts, making it easier to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
- Integrated Assessment Support: The Markbooks align with the refreshed 2025 Early Years progress tests, which now include expanded space for observations and simplified delivery formats in direct response from teachers.
- Guidance Documents: Accompanying guidance documents and videos support teachers in using the Markbooks effectively. These resources are available both on-platform and externally (e.g. YouTube).
iPrimary Early Years/Recption has introduced a refreshed suite of professional development (PD) modules for 2025, designed to support teachers in delivering high-quality Early Years education. New modules include Effective Learning and Behaviour Management in the Early Years Classroom. These modules are part of the broader iPLS (iPrimary and iLowerSecondary) CPD offering and are available as live facilitated sessions or flexible self-study formats.
In case you missed it, some of the previous updates to your subscription included:
- Early years timetable guidance to support planning.
- One extra year of content. Year 1 curriculum, schemes of work, lesson planning, and other teacher guidance have been added to your Early Years subscription to assist schools in transitioning to primary education or accommodating three years of early childhood education.
